This photographic exhibition proposal is about the relationship between photographer and performer. Every portrait taken is a collaboration between photograher and sitter. What then when the "sitter" is a performance artist? The work is then collaborative and the photographer and performer work in synergy. This is a collection of such works with Chilo Eribenne as performer and the photographers she has collaborated with. Some are portraits, others are images captured whilst she is on stage. Still others are staged for the camera including self-portraits. Only one photograph, The Red Shoes, has Chilo Eribenne behind the lens with a dancer taking the role as performer.
When Chilo Eribenne was a member of S'Express, Mark Moore - the band's main protagonist - dubbed her Girl Out of Time and wrote a prose-like story dedicated to her, which she recorded as spoken word for the B-Side of Mantra for a State of Mind titled Mystery Groove.
Girl Out of Time∞ is now the performance artist, DJ and podcaster alter ego of Chilo Eribenne who is also returning to the decks after a long hiatus.
